Marshmallow root is known for its ability to soothe skin and to help heal wounds.
It contains mucilage which is rich in asparagine, pectin, starch, polysaccharides, betaine, tannins, galacturonic acid, glucuronic acid, and galactose, mineral salts, and vitamins (A, C, E and B complex). Provides effective soothing, anti-irritant and moisturizing properties. It is great for soothing and relieving scalp and hair and also super slippery. When combined with slippery elm, it makes a good leave-in conditioner and detangler.
